W. 1 when they broke through the hindenburg line the blade originialy had a blue steele blade, because of age the color has worn down some the blade is still in excellent condition and will polish up good there is a few small pitting places on the outer edge of the blade on one side of the blade has some numbers that says ma/90/1 and below that says 12 - 40 on the other side of the blade has the british emblem and the letters xma the handle seems to be very tight in place, but has some worn places on the wood this bayonet comes with the original scabbord with black leather and metal fittings which is worn some because of its age, but still in nice condition the bayonet's overall lenght is approximately 23 long and the blade is approximately 17 long don't miss out on this opportunity to onw this great item at a fraction of this retail price!
