Kings Own Scottish Borderers 9Th Division Patched TunicA veyr rare divisional patched cuff ranked tunic to a 2nd lt. In the kosb. British great war tunics are exceedingly rare and even rarer than divisional tunics fo canada etc. Because british unit loyalties resided with regiments adn not divisions. British divisions were often ad hoc combinations fo various units changing throughout the war.
This tunic is patched with the white metal thistle on blue roundel of the 9th scottish division. Officer service dress collars to the kosb aer present along with regimental buttons. Only one metal shoulder title kosb is present. An officer osd kosb balmoral/glengarry badge is included in this auction so the buyer may find the appropriate headgear for the tunic to display. Teh immense rarity of this tunic is not offset by its condition issues.
I have photographed teh 2 worst spots caused by wear and moth. The tunic on display is still impressive to the collector. In 25 years of collecting i have not seen another patched to this division. Payment due within 4 days. S&h outsied of north america may be higher than stated below.
